Corrosion resistance of automotive exhaust materials

摘要：
A study was conducted to compare the corrosion resistance of various exhaust materials and to develop new materials systems. The tested materials were aluminized mild steel, plain STS 409L, and STS 409L coated with aluminum. Corrosion resistance was evaluated by condensate corrosion, NaCl-induced corrosion, and cyclic oxidation tests. The results indicate that with respect to corrosion, most aluminized stainless steel reveal good performances for exhaust systems.
