摘要
This study aimed to compare effects of different plant growth regulators on multiple shoot production of Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat. Nodal segments and shoots of chrysanthemum were cultured on (a) Murashige and Skoog (MS, 1962), (b) MS supplemented with benzylaminopurine (BAP), (c) MS supplemented with BAP and indole acetic acid (IAA), (d) MS supplemented with IAA and BAP, (e) MS supplemented with kinetin (Kin) and indolebutyric acid (IBA) in different concentrations. The shoot cultured on MS supplemented with 0.5 mg L-1 BAP showed the highest multiple shoots (4.91 shoots segment(-1)). Micropropagation using shoots is the most desirable and safe technique, as it does not only minimize genetic variation but also helps in the formation of healthy shoots. It also provides high rate of multiplication. The seedlings induced from shoots cultured on modified 1/2 MS supplemented with activated charcoal showed higher growth rate than the shoots cultured on modified 1/2 MS without activated charcoal.
