摘要
The advantages of VSC-HVDC compared with the traditional HVDC are introduced in the thesis. Then the necessity and challenges of developing DC circuit breaker used in large capacity power grid is proposed. Basic operation principles of different types DC circuit breaker are described as well. At last, the application of DC circuit breaker in Zhoushan flexible HVDC project is illustrated. The strategy above has greatly improved the reliability of flexible HVDC project and achieved rapid isolation when the HVDC system come to a failure. It is the first DC circuit breaker used in VSC-HVDC project around the world and has great significance.
