Refractive index measurements and transmission spectra of Bi2(MoO4)3 single crystals

摘要
Large, optical-quality bismuth molybdate Bi-2(MoO4)(3) single crystals are grown by the Czoehralski method from a stoichiometric melts. The principal refractive indices n(x), n(y) and n(z) are measured using the classic method of minimum angle of deviation in the visible region of the spectrum. The crossing angle of the optical axes is calculated. It is obtained that bismuth molybdate single crystals possess a wide transmission window between 0.415 and 5.2 mum. The absorption coefficient dependence of the photon energy is presented and the edge of absorption gap is determined. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
