Integrated teaching of translation, grammar and terminology in ESP

The paper deals with several problems posed by translation, grammar and terminology used in teaching ESP, under an integrated approach. ESP terminology is not considered a mere classification of the lexical items specific to a particular discipline of knowledge; it presupposes that both the sentence level elements and other discourse elements are specific as well, i.e. grammar and structure are involved in understanding and producing ESP specific discourse. We demonstrate that translation plays its role in ESP providing the interface between two languages, facilitating a better understanding of new concepts and a profound insight in the technical culture under consideration.
