摘要
Seven types of non-linear functions for height-diameter relationship of Populus deltoides tree were fitted and the model H = exp (1.618 + 0.196 D-0.587) was adjudged best on the basis of statistical criteria. The developed model has been validated on an independent data set and predictions were found precise. Residuals analysis indicates that the model do not violate assumptions of regression theory. The evolved model was found better than linear model in precision and may be used for estimation of tree height.
