Polarization driven polarization bistability in anisotropic interference filters

摘要：
Bandpass interference filters with an anisotropic central layer can be switched by modulating either the incident intensity or the polarization. The behavior of different polarization bistable anisotropic interference filters with and without a heat sink has been investigated experimentally, confirming the existence of polarization driven bistability in an all-optical passive device. The stationary results show good agreement with numerical predictions obtained by coupled thermo-optic multilayer model.
