摘要
This work presents a parallel cluster version of a 2D hydrodynamical river flood model and its implementations to prevent environmental disasters. This problem is one of practical significance. Half encircled by a bend of the river Vyatka, a few kilometers upstream from the city of Kirov, we find the Kirovo-Chepetsk floodplain. Chemical waste dumps are located in immediate proximity to this place. In spring, flood streams wash away the pollutants, posing a threat to the water supply system of Kirov. In the present study, we describe such events considering a two-dimensional system of shallow water equations as a mathematical model of evolving processes. An equation of transport and diffusion of contaminants is added to this system. For the numerical implementation of the model, we use a system of finite-difference equations. The model is used for forecasting floods occurring in the Kirovo-Chepetsk floodplain in spring. The model was verified against satellite shots of the spreading area of floods and monitoring data on the concentration of pollutants collected by the ecological services of Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Works and the Ministry of Ecology and Environmental Protection of the Kirov Region. The constructed model can be also used to predict the influence of protective hydro-technical facilities before their construction, thereby diminishing the pollution hazards.
