摘要
Today, Internet is more widely used in education settings thanks to developments in information technologies. The use of the Internet in the education settings, however, has both advantages and disadvantages. For this reason, it is crucial that the Internet is utilized at maximum level in the educational settings and that the disadvantages are eliminated to the lowest level. Especially in elementary education, it is necessary to get the views of the teachers on the use of the Internet to do research, communicate, and reach to reliable resources. The purpose of the study is to put forward the views of the pre-service elementary school teachers about the use of the Internet in teaching and learning process. The data of the study were gathered from 90 pre-service teachers by using open-ended questionnaire. Descriptive analysis technique was used to analyze the data collected in the study. As a result of the study, it was found out that the use of the Internet in the educational settings is important and that the pre-service teachers themselves also utilize the Internet for educational purposes and that they are aware of the advantages and disadvantages of the Internet. The pre-service teachers also made comments on the effective use of the Internet in educational settings.
