Special projects in architectural structures

Educational exercises in the areas of engineering mechanics and structural analysis are described. Included are projects that involve the design, fabrication and erection of small-scale and full-size structures in various materials such as cardboard, wood, concrete and steel. Some of the projects involve teams of two students and a few engage an entire seminar class. Educational objectives are discussed as well as funding problems and possibilities.
