摘要
Various worldwide surveys conducted in relation to education and the demands of the labor market in the computer science and engineering, and in many other fields, reveal a gap between them, which may widen in the future if no action is taken. Higher technical education must be responsive and align the education offerings to the requirements of the industry. Different research papers reveal that the current demands of the job market need new visions for teaching and evaluation. University curricula need to be realigned, courses must adopt the latest related technologies and must continuously adapt to the new trends in the field. Also, there is a need in changing teaching methods to use new information and communications tools and to adjust to the new ways in which people and devices can interact. As far as evaluation is concerned, students are usually assessed in relation to their degree of understanding the material taught in class. However, testing based not only on what is taught in the class, but also on the demands of the labor market, the use of more diversified evaluation methods may prove to be a better approach, which is currently either missing from the landscape of learning management or it is insufficiently exploited.
