摘要
Mexico counts with a great wind potential. Among the sites identified with high quality wind are coastal zones, especially in the Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora Oaxaca and Yucatan States. Unfortunately, very little of this potential has been exploited. The present study analyzes rural areas with wind potential for energy generation front in Mexico, considering the social and economic aspects involved in the development of eolic energy projects. The results indicate that besides the technological development required, the legal aspects should be strengthened to enhance the production of electricity front wind. Regulations and environmental norms for protection of the environment and wildlife populations must be developed.
