摘要
We measure and statistically compare an array of parameters for over 250 galaxies in the Hubble Deep Field North, using the WFPC2 and NICMOS images of the field. These parameters include redshift, rest-frame visible asymmetry and concentration, star formation rate and bolometric luminosity. Our principal finding is a weak correlation between redshift and rest-frame visible asymmetry, extending to z approximate to 2. This supports previous qualitative evidence of galaxy morphological evolution and is generally consistent with hierarchical models of galaxy formation.
