摘要：
The aim of this atudy was to evaluate on the hydrographic basin of Ronda the application of the permanent preservation areas established by the Brazilian Forest Code (Federal Law no 12.651/2012). The basin of the stream of Ronda covers both urban and rural areas of Ponta Grossa , Parana and has many uses and occupations at its limit. To fulfill the objective recovered to the geotechnology and its techniques, which greatly contribute to these geographic studies regarding its implementation , optimization and visualization From the satellite image Landsat 5 TM of September 11, 2011 it was possible to obtain data of the use and occupation of the land with the technique of supervised classification using the maximum likelihood algorithm. In Geographic Information Systems was held area calculations, clipping, masks and maps, which made it possible to conclude that there is conflicting uses (urban area, bare soil and agriculture) in the areas of permanent preservation in the study area.
