摘要
Introduction: Anxiety can be defined as feeling nervous and having anxious thoughts. Although this is a normal process in daily life, it can be categorized as a disorder or disease if anxiety starts to impair one's quality of life and functionality. The aim of this study is to determine anxiety sypmptoms and related risk factors in 15 years and older people in Agacoren district of Aksaray. Methods: The research type is cross-sectional. People aged 15 and over in the district were stratified according to age and gender groups, and the number of people to be reached in each group was determined. 341 (93.6%) people were reached. In the research, a questionnaire form for the descriptive features of the participants and Beck Anxiety Scale were used as the data source. Results: 341 people were examined in the study. The average score of Beck Anxiety Inventory of the participants is 8.52 +/- 8.63, and the median is 6 (min: 0, max: 42). Anxiety was found in 14.7% of the participants. Anxiety symptoms were found in 27.8% of women and 8.1% of men. Conclusion: In our study, it was found that one out of every seven people had anxiety symptoms. Most of the studies conducted in our country are specific to various groups. Community studies are needed. The risk of anxiety disorder was found to be three times higher in women than in men. Increasing awareness about risk factors can be one of the important steps to prevent the development of anxiety in women.
