摘要
It is widely known that non-linear loads cause huge problems to the industries where their interests are to save energy and improve their power quality. Thus, they should consider Energy Management Systems (EMSs) for managing their energy usage. As such, proposed in this paper is an architecture based on Internet of Things (IoT) technology for detecting the non-linearity of the loads and acting upon how to fix the issues related to the reduction in the power factor and the existence of harmonics. With the aid of harmonic filters and capacitor, significant drops have been exhibited in the voltage and current Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) levels, which comply with the standards set by the International Electro-technical Commission (IEC). Furthermore, by including capacitors, the Power Factor (PF) displayed a considerable rise in its level, approaching 1.0. With that being said, the proposed factory energy consumption system using IoT can be implemented for next generation standards; such as, the ISO 50001.
