Teaching-learning by Problem-Base Learning (PBL) in the Higher Education on Environmental Health

摘要
Problem-base learning is one of the methodologies developed and applied in various institutions of higher education. A PBL curriculum provides authentic experiences that foster active learning, integrating theory and practice, and applying knowledge and skills, by solving problems. The progress during the three academic years were analyzed in three curricular units, "Case Studies in Environment", "Case Studies in Public Health" and "Case Studies in Occupational Health", all included on Environmental Health degree. The average classifications and success rate obtained by students on PBL units were quite satisfactory, with average ratings generally greater than 15/20 values and success rate above 92%.
