摘要
This paper aims to mathematically model and simulate the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) in steady state and dynamic operations. At first, the experimental measurements from The Dr FuelCell-Professional module under various loading conditions are obtained. Then, the modeling and implementation of PEMFC is provided and implemented using MATLAB/SIMULINK and the results have been validated by comparison with experimental measurements. It is illustrated from the results that the mathematical model represents accurately the physical PEMFC module. Also, the effect of temperature on the performance of PEMFC has been studied. Finally, the dynamic response of PEMFC stack has been studied when it is connected to the public grid via a DC-DC voltage booster and DC-AC inverter. The system response is obtained when subjected to a 3-phase short circuit fault in the tie line close to the infinite bus.
