Simulation of an imploding Z-pinch during intense thermonuclear heat release

摘要
The dynamics of an imploding Z-pinch is examined by using a 1.5-dimensional model for the case of initially condensed fusion fuel. The Z-pinch implosion is studied under conditions when the contribution of radiation losses to the energy balance is significant. It is shown that the resulting radiative collapse may be conducive to obtaining plasmas with thermonuclear parameters.
