摘要
The development of education is done according to the demands of the various stages of economic and social development and of providing similar training and educational parameters for all the members of society. With these in view, education should contribute, to a larger extent, to the progress of society as a whole. The development and modernizing of education have determined the increase of the resources allocated to it within all the states members of the European Union. The amount of education expenditures differ not only from one country to another but also from one individual to another and are capable to show an image of both a country's capacity to support the development of the human capital in education and of the place it detains within the long term development strategies. The fact that, at an individual level, education expenditures are uncertain and variable, has determined the increase of the part played by the State and governments in financing education, either completely or partly. Once such an approach has been considered, this study focuses upon a vast analysis of the evolution of education expenditures and their share in the gross domestic product of the states members of the European Union.
