摘要
Paper presents remarks on the legal aspects connected with and technical infrastructure needed for broadcasting from shore to ship of maritime safety information (MSI) and transmission of the same kind of information from ship to shore. It includes the idea and scope of MSI, collecting, processing and broadcasting of this information by shore stations, the reception and display on board ship and transmission from ship to other vessels and competent authorities on shore. The infrastructure contains major items needed to: the formatting of MSI into an S-100 compatible format, the creating a single window for MSI and the transmission of safety related information from shore stations and ships. Maritime Assistance Service (MAS) is suggested as a contact point for collecting and dissemination of MSI.
