Inter-organizational information system architecture for fresh vegetables traceability

The developments in information and communications technology from the last twenty years have opened new opportunities for interconnecting organizational information systems and increase the competitive advantage of companies that are exploiting those facilities. Moreover, in the food safety area, any inter-organizational information system is a must for reducing food safety risks and to increase visibility over food supply chain. Paper will start with an overview regarding main issues related to inter-organizational information system and food safety and traceability, after that being proposed IOIS architecture for fresh vegetables traceability.
