摘要
W-band radiometers have been shown to be effective in detecting metallic and non-metallic weapons concealed under heavy garments in both indoor and outdoor situations. With a real time-time MMW camera, we now may display subjects with weapons in both indoor and outdoor situations. The system consists of a linear array of W- Band detectors in a 12 inch Cassegrain system with a mechanical scanner along with support and display hardware. Under contract to the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, Lockheed Martin and Intelligent Machine Technology have built and demonstrated this system for the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), the research arm of the Department of Justice. The radiometer modules use a PIN switch for the Dickie switch calibration followed by multiple low noise amplifier stages, a Schottky detector and a video amplifier. A synchronous detector and A/D converter for each pixel provides a stream of image data for further processing and operator display. The operator display provides both raw and processed MMW. The operator controls frame rate and focus depth, and may store raw data as a digital file from a PC based interface. Our presentation will discuss the camera system and performance, as well as show current images and animations collected in a number of common scenarios.
