Evolution of shock-wave-induced nonlinear strain waves in waveguides made of pure glassy polymers and (nano)composites is studied. We demonstrate how different fillers added to the polymer matrix (PMMA or polystyrene) affect elastic moduli of resulting composites and cause changes of strain soliton parameters in them. The results obtained may be of use for understanding, description and prediction of nonlinear mechanical behavior of polymer composites.
