摘要
Within more turbulent, increasingly globalized and digitalized environments, Strategic Information Systems Planning (SISP) has long been recognized as one of the most significant processes for better management and supporting strategic use of IS/IT. However, as business environments and IS/IT applications are rapidly growing in complexity, undertaking SISP process is getting difficult. In order to undertake SISP, organisations need to take multiple planning perspectives, including managerial, environmental and organisational factors simultaneously, not deal with only an important one. Thus, to diminish the issues and undertake an effective SISP process, various drivers both, inside and outside of the organisation, need to be considered and identified. If organisations consider possible drivers effectively, they will be more likely to realize business goals and strategies as well as improve organisational performance. This paper proposes five key drivers positively affecting effective SISP process. Also, the paper proposes a model to show relationship between the key drivers and SISP success. Further research is first planned to undertake three case studies of Korean large organisations as a part of mixed methods approach to validate the identified drivers; to find other potential drivers that could vitally influence effective SISP process; and to identify the relationship between key drivers and SISP success.
