Agents coordination-based web infrastructure for personalized Web searching

摘要
In recent years, the area of intelligent agents has been one of the most prevalent fields of research in the Al community. The main trust of Kodama(1) research project is an investigation into novel ways of agentifying the Web, based on the pre-existing infrastructure of the Web, to assist users to find desired information. Three different categories of Kodama's agents are introduced here, Web Page Agents, Server Agents, and User Interface Agents. This paper studies ways to model users interests and shown how these models can be deployed for more effective retrieval and filtering. A user preferences (UP) is created over time by analyzing surfed pages to identify their content and by associating that content with some implicit responses to detect the actual users interest of that page. In terms of adaptation speed, the proposed methods make Kodama system acts as a pinpoint information retrieval system, converges to the user's interests and adapts to the sudden change of user's interests over time.
