Future perspectives of the coal mining sector in Poland

The foresight project "Scenarios of technological developments in the coal mining sector" allows for defining the conditions and scenarios of underground mining in Poland. This study briefly summarises the research work involved in the project whose main purpose is to define the directions for further development of the coal mining sector in Poland. The conditions for the development of various mining systems are explored and applicability of selected systems is investigated in the context of the above criteria.
