摘要
The paper is an attempt to indicate the current challenges in East Asian cooperation and governance in the context of contemporary international relations. In order to do so in the first part the characteristics and evolution of cooperation, integration and governance in a broader context of the whole East Asia is presented, implying the role of institutions in integration and in development itself Changes in the whole world economy in the last decades, intensified by the global crisis of 2008-2009, the crisis in the EU and the rise of Chinese economy had a considerable influence on the Asian markets and the landscape of cooperation followed by the implications in numerous dimensions that would be further implied. The new character of interdependences appears not only in East Asia itself but also in the whole world economy, therefore the question arises of how the ongoing restructuring will affect the countries from outside the region, especially the EU. The responses will be given in the final part of the paper, followed by conclusions.
