摘要：

Our research has five specific objectives: to explain what the original function of the Senate was within the political-institutional gear, to determine what effects it had on the configuration of the procedure by which the senators were appointed, to analyze what proposals for change have been raised on the throughout history, describe what the reforms have been carried out by the Executive of Justin Trudeau between 2014-2016 and detail what effects they have had both on the role that the Senate must fulfill and on the perception that the citizenship of said federal body.
