摘要
In this paper an attempt has been made to present the PPP model of development administration in the context of Indian experience. After explaining the concept of, PPP and its intricacies, different forms of PPP have been explained. In India's case a number of models have been tried by the central and state governments with different results. PPP is something, different from. privatisation and its successful implementation depends on a number of political as well as developmental considerations. The moot point to be taken into account is that PPP should not be seen as public partnership in private projects; rather it should be viewed as private partnership in public projects. The administrative ideology of good governance demands participation of civil society (NGO) as well as organised corporate sector in development administration. A well thought-out and innovative PPP model is eminently suitable for promoting good governance provided public accountability, public needs and public interests are not compromised.
