Tumor necrosis factor-α: a new mechanism of ischemic ventricular fibrillation?

摘要：

Ventricular tachyarrhythmia arising from myocardial ischemia and infarction is a major cause of sudden cardiac death. 38,39 VF endangers seriously the life of patients with ischemic heart diseases, but its mechanism is still not clear. We suggest TNF-α be a novel substrate of ischemic VF, a new mechanism for ischemic VF. If it is confirmed, how is ischemic VF initiated and what's a substrate for the maintenance of this disease can be clarified. Besides, TNF-α will be a new target for the therapy of ischemic VF. If the secretion and expression of TNF-α in the ischemic myocardium are inhibited, ischemic VF may be relieved. It would be a significant contribution to the protection of human health if it comes true.
