摘要
Information Technology sector has taken several initiatives to hire, train and promote women and become the largest private sector for employing women in India. It has created immense employment opportunities for the female workforce by providing them a suitable internal work environment and favorable human resource practices. These practices empower women employees and provide them with equal opportunities at the workplace. This study attempts to discuss women employees work life in terms of opportunities and challenges they face in the information technology sector. The study is based on information from different secondary sources. The multiple case study approach has been adopted in the paper. Findings reveal that though fairly satisfactory yet an optimal level of gender inclusivity is still needed to be achieved in this sector. Further, the study provides several suggestions to policy makers with respect to gender inclusive planning and gender sensitive priorities towards the information technology sector.
