Sources of Errors for Chinese Learners of English

Errors, as typical characteristics of learner language, have revealed the internal mechanism of learning and provided useful evidence for research of different teachers and scholars. A thorough study on learners' errors can help teachers understand the learning process and facilitate their teaching. This paper tries to review the brief history of the studies on errors in the field of second language acquisition and analyzes those errors constantly committed by Chinese learners of English. In the meantime, it focuses on why learners commit those errors and aims at providing plausible implications to problems concerning errors in English class.
