AN INNOVATIVE EVALUATION MODEL FOR SMES GLOBAL PERFORMANCE IN RELATION WITH THE EFQM EXCELLENCE MODEL

The aim of this paper is to define a better-adapted global performance evaluation model of the SMEs, in relation to the criteria of the EFQM Excellence Model by taking into account the degree of maturity of the organization. The proposed model is based on a research conducted for the first time at the level of a representative sample of SMEs in Romania, a research that allowed the definition of the characteristics of these companies regarding the methods used for perfonnance evaluation. The global performance evaluation model and the software tool designed for applying the model are better adapted to these companies and facilitate the process of implementation of the European Excellence business model by the SMEs.
