Study on visible light response and magnetism of bismuth ferrites synthesized by a low temperature hydrothermal method

摘要
BiFeO3 and Bi25FeO40 microspheres were synthesized via a hydrothermal process and their structure, visible light response, and magnetism were investigated. Pure BiFeO3 and Bi25FeO40 powders were obtained at 120 degrees C and 100 degrees C, respectively. Both of the Bi25FeO40 and BiFeO3 powders exhibited strong absorption in visible-light regime. Antiferromagnetism and super-paramagnetism were observed in BiFeO3 and Bi25FeO40 respectively. (C) 2012 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l. All rights reserved.
