Power Allocation Approach for Underlay D2D Communication in Cellular Network

摘要
With the rapid growth in the number of active devices, device to device (D2D) communication in the cellular network is an attractive alternative due to its traffic offloading capability. Optimal power allocation in D2D communication is a challenging task to maintain quality of service. In this paper, we propose a novel power allocation technique which allows transmitters to use minimum power while maintaining system performance. Stochastic geometry approach is used to measure the communication link quality for both the D2D and cellular communication. System throughput optimization problem is defined with power and signal to noise ratio (SNR) constraint. Further, it is shown by simulation results that the proposed approach of power allocation provides a significant improvement in the system performance as compared to fixed and random power allocation.
