摘要
The recent years' experience of earthquake damage and the analysis results of the structural nonlinear seismic response show that general structure does not have adequate horizontal bearing capacity reserves to resist strong earthquake except some of the special structure, but depend on the plastic deformation of the structure basically that consume the seismic energy it bear to against the strong earthquakes. So, In order to prevent the building structure in the earthquake collapsing, in addition to bearing capacity and deformation calculation under the action of minor earthquakes, but need the deformation plasticity calculation under the action of strong earthquakes and.
