摘要
Mobility in architecture and urbanism denotes the citizens' capacity to move within the urban and extra-urban area. It is a characteristic of an urbanised milieu. The mobility rate is associated with the need of citizens to change their living environment. Creating realistic possibilities for healthy mobility ranks among major development scenarios. As such it was made subject to verification in our research at the Faculty of Architecture, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. The research lasting several years applied the case studies method to respond to the citizens' needs. The solution to the situation includes the actions to adapt static transportation based on the current requirements, apply automated parking system, introduce cycle-ways/routes to "relieve" the transportation system and integrate facilities in the housing environment so that citizens could carry out most of their activities within their pertinent residential area and minimise the use of car transportation.
