The euphoria surrounding the large business volumes and employment potential of e-commerce often leaves one stunned. How will India generate the vast multitude of professionals with the right knowledge, experience and skills to take on the Dot.Com revolution? While the street corner shops are making "quick bucks" by fooling gullible students, the academic community at large has not responded to this need. It is easy to condemn the street corner shops; it is difficult to work out concrete strategies. Let me outline some preliminary thoughts that can be deliberated by the academic community at large for some possible action plans.
