摘要
The extensity and intensity of invasion or infestation of different structural groups of the red fox (Vulpes vulpes L.) population by flat (Cestoda) and round (Nematoda) helminthes of the gastrointestinal tract were studied. Fundamental differences in invasion of males and females by round helminthes with an increase in age were demonstrated. Infection by round helminthes results in a weak decrease in the portion of females that participate in reproduction and in a decrease in the average amount of pregnancy spots, as well as in a small decrease in the specific survival rate of animals. Invasion by flat helminthes and simultaneous infection by both types results in a considerable decrease in the fox fertility and survival rate; as a result, quite strong limitation of the amount of hosts can occur.
