Design and Operation Analysis of a Novel Coupled-Inductor Based Soft Switching Boost Converter with an Auxiliary Switch

摘要
In this paper, a new soft switching boost converter with coupled inductor is proposed. This topology provides the main switch zero voltage zero current transition (ZVZCT) for the turn-on and zero voltage switching (ZVS) for the turn-off. In the meantime, the auxiliary switch turns on at zero current switching (ZCS) and turns off at ZVS. The proposed converter improves the efficiency of the converter by the coupling effect. The soft switching can be realized in almost all load range. All of the MOSFETs turn on and off under soft switching (SS). In this study, the operation principles of the converter are given and also verified by a 300 W experimental prototype, and the related experimental results are presented.
