摘要
This paper presents some considerations and concepts of Virtual Reality (VR) for the engineering practice in order to assist the design engineers in getting a better understanding about VR technology and developing their own low-cost VR systems. It introduces and discusses hardware implementation of a simple low-cost projection scheme for CAD-models exploration supporting the engineering decision on early stages of product development based on VR. It is based on authors work within newly established VR Lab at the Technical University of Sofia and supported by cooperation activities with the IMI at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany.
