Liquid Water Visualization in Cathode Catalyst Layer of PEMFC by Soft X-ray Radiography

摘要
Liquid water visualization in cathode CL was studied by using soft X-ray radiography. Water concentration gradient in the CL under the rib was observed under fuel cell operation. More liquid water accumulated in the CL at CL/GDL side than in the CL at CL/PEM side was identified. With increase in current density, more liquid water accumulated in both CL and GDL was observed. Correlation between the result of soft X-ray radiography and AC impedance measurement were also discussed.
