摘要
Distribution system optimization problem involves several uncertain random variables on account of stochastic nature of load demand and power generation from renewable energy sources. These issues obligates the use of probabilistic power flow while solving any distribution system optimization problem. Hong's point estimate method (PEM) is a well-known tool used in transmission systems having meshed topologies to deal with uncertainty. This paper investigates the applicability of this method in radial distribution systems which yet remains unexplored. Both and schemes of Hong's point estimate method have been investigated and their performance is compared with Monte Carlo based analysis. The application results obtained on the benchmark IEEE 33-bus and IEEE 69-bus test distribution systems are presented.
