A Preliminary Assessment of Carbon Dioxide Emissions from Apricot Orchard Soils

摘要
This study reports the CO2 soil flux recorded in February and May in an apricot orchard. Emissions were assessed throughout 8 chambers connected to a non-dispersive infra-red CO2 detector (PP System, model SBA-4). The mean daily CO2 fluxes fluctuated from approximately 0.22 (February) to 1.24 g m(-2) h(-1) (May). The spatial variability of CO2 lost by the "row" and the "inter-row" soil fraction and the influence of air temperature are discussed. This preliminary note highlights that investigations on soil CO2 emissions are urgent in order to construct a realistic carbon budget in such ecosystems.
