Theoretical and Application Research on the Three-dimensional Model of Design Management

It is a common sense of manufacturing enterprises that product innovation has become an important means to conquer markets in the 21(st) century. Recent studies on design management have helped us to understand how companies can apply design management to the new product development process. Based on the comprehensive relationship between design decision, project management and design organism, this paper proposes a basic model to scientifically investigate the design management applied in product innovation process. With the aid of such model; efficient strategies have been suggested so that product innovation may therefore benefit significantly from the existing body of theories in the field of design management.
