Transient radiation of traveling-wave wire antennas

摘要
The radiation fields for both the near and far zones of a transient traveling current along a finite linear wire are calculated directly in the time domain, Some of the results on the electric fields obtained by several methods in the literature [1]-[5] differ. In fact, the above methods can be classified into two types: 1) the monopole technique for [1] and 2) the dipole technique for [2]-[5]. In this paper, a model of the transient radiation produced by a traveling-wave linear wire is suggested. The reasons of the differences in the literature are pointed out. The equivalence of solutions by the monopole and dipole techniques is proven.
