Progresses and Applications of Magnetic Suspension Control System Research in China

摘要
Suspension control system is the core devices of the maglev train, which is the main difference between the maglev transportation and the wheel-rail transportation. Its main function is adjusting the electromagnet coil current to maintain 8-10mm levitation gap between the vehicle and the guideway stably. In fact, magnetic levitation system is one complex and integrated mechatronic control system, and the related research is emphasized on two aspects system dynamics and suspension control theory. The current research on Maglev technology in China has been up to the engineering practice period from initial principle demonstration period gradually. This paper summarizes the development and application of suspension control system in China and introduced the progress in several selected areas. Moreover, future trends and opportunities for Chinese Maglev Transportation system are discussed.
