Full field terahertz imaging of high-speed dynamics

摘要
We use terahertz to optical conversion in an atomic vapor to achieve very high-speed imaging in the terahertz frequency range. This technique allows us to capture video at kilohertz frame rates. Using this technique, we demonstrate high-speed imaging of the dynamics of a small explosive detonation contained within an optically opaque container. This proof of principle measurement demonstrates the utility of this method for the monitoring of high-speed effects which are beyond the capabilities of other terahertz imaging techniques.
