摘要
In this article, a bandwidth estimation model for VER video transmission is proposed. This model refines the work mentioned in Zhang et al. (Z.L. Zhang, J. Kurose, J.D. Salehi, D. Towsley, Smoothing, statistical multiplexing, and call admission control for stored video, IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 15 (6) (1997) 1148-1166.) to strengthen the scalability under correlated traffic arrivals. In this model, we attempt to capture the characteristics of the two levels of bit-rate variation by defining two modelling layers and refining the definition of service robustness. Results obtained from this model have shown its strong scalability on different levels of variation. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
